With Jesus Christ as our Head, the Pope as our symbol of unity, and the bishops as our leaders, we the people are the Catholic Church.
New members are welcomed into the Catholic Church through a process of education, faith sharing and rituals known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).
RCIA is a place for raising questions, studying Scripture and learning about our faith community along with our Catholic traditions. The atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming.
Who is welcome to begin the RCIA journey?
Unbaptized:
Persons who have never been baptized and who need a process to help them grow in awareness to God’s call to conversion.
Baptized in Another Christian Church:
Those who were baptized in another Christian denomination and wish to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church.
Baptized but Uncatechized Catholic Adults:
Persons who were baptized as infants and not given any religious instruction in the Catholic faith. These adults will be prepared to celebrate the Sacraments of Penance, Confirmation and Eucharist.
If you or anyone you know is interested in this process, please contact the St. Mary's office at 518-885-7411.
